Community Engagement Session at Vicksburg National Military Park Visitor Center

MDAH will hold a community engagement session in the orientation theater at the Vicksburg National Military Park Visitor Center in Vicksburg to introduce the public to a new interpretive center being planned in conjunction with the Vicksburg National Military Park. Feedback and comments are welcome at the public session. 

Vicksburg project representatives from architecture firm Perkins&Will and exhibit design firm Gallagher & Associates will provide project overviews. 

The project is a collaboration of the Mississippi Department of Archives and History, the Friends of Vicksburg National Military Park & Campaign (FOV), and the National Park Service at the Vicksburg National Military Park.

Free Sundays at the Two Mississippi Museums

Admission to the Two Mississippi Museums is free every Sunday. This includes admission to the Hurricane Katrina: Mississippi Remembers, Photographs by Melody Golding on display through November 7. HORNE, a Ridgeland-based professional services firm, is the title sponsor of the exhibit.

Welty Wednesdays

Join the Eudora Welty House & Garden (EWHG) for Welty Wednesdays beginning Wednesday, January 8. In honor of 1119 Pinehurst Street's 100-year anniversary, free admission will be offered every Wednesday, in addition to the long-standing tradition of free admission on the 13th of each month honoring Welty’s April 13 birthday.
