Manage your agency’s records with confidence. The Mississippi Department of Archives and History is responsible for implementing Mississippi’s laws on records management. That’s why MDAH offers many free and low-cost support services to assist state and local government officials in managing their records.

Viewing Archival Records
The content in this section is for state and local government officials. Individuals who wish to view archival records in our collection may visit the William F. Winter Archives & History Building. Before you visit, we suggest searching our online Catalog for descriptions of the records you wish to see in person — from census, marriage and military records to court cases and labor contracts.
Not all records are housed at MDAH. Information on how to purchase copies of birth, death, marriage, and divorce records not found at the archives is online at the Vital Records office of the State Department of Health website.
