Student Nonviolent Coordinating Committee (SNCC) Grassroots Organizing Discussion: Exploring the Role of the Black Power in the Civil Rights Movement

Did you know the phrase "Black Power" originated in Mississippi? Learn more about its true meaning and other civil rights history at an upcoming workshop at the Two Mississippi Museums. The Student Nonviolent Coordinating Committee (SNCC) Learning Toolkit Workshop: Exploring the Role of the Black Power in the Civil Rights Movement will be held Saturday, April 26, from 10:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. SNCC veteran and film producer Judy Richardson and historian Emilye Crosby will lead a workshop, examining documents and audiovisual materials detailing the role of Black Power in SNCC’s movement building.
