Join us for a free event featuring a screening of Cole: Bridge to Justice at 2 p.m. on Sunday, August 16, in the Craig H. Neilsen Auditorium at the Two Mississippi Museums. This 75-minute documentary traces the remarkable journey of Donald R. Cole, PhD—from his pivotal role as one of the “Ole Miss Eight,” who challenged segregation at the University of Mississippi, to his emergence as a national advocate for education, equity, and justice. Through archival footage, candid interviews, and powerful storytelling, the film follows Cole’s evolution from student activist to distinguished scholar, educator, and leader, whose work has expanded opportunities for Black students and scholars. Following the screening, a panel conversation will feature Don Cole, filmmakers Antonio Tarrell and Castel Sweet, and moderator John Spann of the Mississippi Humanities Council.
