Tougaloo Nine Anniversary Flash Tour
Learn about the impact of the Tougaloo Nine during a gallery talk at the Two Mississippi Museums at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 29. In honor of the sixty-fourth anniversary of the Tougaloo Nine, civil-rights era photographer Jerry Keahey Sr. will speak about his experience working with and capturing iconic images of the Tougaloo Nine. The Tougaloo Nine was a group of nine undergraduate students at Tougaloo College, then named Tougaloo Southern Christian College, who staged sit-ins at the all-White Jackson Main Library in Jackson, Mississippi.
