The Mississippi Department of Archives and History is pleased to offer the Family Genealogy Fellowship to support an individual hoping to locate information related to their family history using resources available at MDAH. This fellowship provides the researcher with access to our unique collections in order to fill in details of their family’s stories.
A research stipend of up to $3,500 will be offered to a researcher to fund their travel to Jackson and accommodations for five consecutive nights to allow for five days of research at MDAH.
The selected applicant will schedule the fellowship to take place for five consecutive days in the months of September through November 2024. The stipend may be used to cover travel, accommodations, and other expenses accrued during the researcher’s time at MDAH. Complimentary copies up to $50 are also included. If selected, applicants must be prepared to provide a W-9 to receive stipend payments. Half of the stipend will be paid in advance and the final half will be paid after the visit.
