Free Museum Admission for Military Personnel

The Eudora Welty House and Garden, Museum of Mississippi History, and Mississippi Civil Rights Museum are participating in the annual Blue Star Museums program to offer free admission to the nation’s active duty military personnel and their families. The program runs from Memorial Day Weekend through Labor Day 2019.

The Blue Star Museums program is available for those currently serving in the United States military and up to five family members. The military ID holder can be either an active duty service member or another dependent family member with an appropriate ID card. The active duty member does not have to be present for family members to use the program.

Blue Star Museums is an initiative of the National Endowment for the Arts in collaboration with Blue Star Families, the Department of Defense, and more than 2,000 museums nationwide. Read a complete list of participating museums at www.arts.gov/bluestarmuseums.

The Eudora Welty House and Garden interprets the life of the internationally acclaimed author. Regular admission to the Welty House is $5 for adults and $3 for students. Children under six are admitted free. Groups of thirteen or more receive discounted pricing. The museum is located at 1119 Pinehurst Street in Jackson. Both museums are located at 222 North Street in Jackson.

Regular admission to the Two Mississippi Museums is $15 for both museums for adults and $8 for youth eighteen and under. Children under three are admitted free. Groups of ten or more receive discounted pricing. Purchase tickets at the door or online at www.twomississippimuseums.com.
