Featuring a conversation between author and MSNBC host Joy-Ann Reid and literary scholar Ebony Lumumba, the Medgar Wiley Evers Lecture will be held at 6 p.m. on Tuesday, February 13, in the Craig H. Neilsen Auditorium of the Two Mississippi Museums. Reid, host of The ReidOut, and Lumumba, chair of the English department at Jackson State University, will explore the legacy of Medgar and Myrlie Evers.
Join us for a Sunday Screening of Fannie Lou Hamer’s America at 2 p.m. on Sunday, January 21, in the Craig H. Neilsen Auditorium of the Two Mississippi Museums. Directed by Joy Davenport, this film tells the story of Fannie Lou Hamer’s pivotal role in the Civil Rights Movement. Following the screening, there will be a Q&A with Joy Davenport and Monica Land, Fannie Lou Hamer's niece. Sponsored by the Mississippi Humanities Council and the Mississippi Film Office, this program is free and open to the public.

Join us for the annual MLK Night of Culture at 6 p.m. on Monday, January 15, at the Two Mississippi Museums. Hosted by local Jackson artist and producer 5th Child, this year's theme honors the 60th anniversary of Freedom Summer. Artists will perform original pieces centered on freedom, voting rights, and education.
At 1 p.m. on Thursday, November 21, the Mississippi Historic Preservation Professional Review Board will meet in the Charlotte Capers Building to consider nominations to the National Register of Historic Places.
