History Happy Hour: Medicine

Enjoy our History Happy Hour at 5 p.m. on Thursday, August 24, at the Two Mississippi Museums! The event includes free admission, live entertainment, refreshments from Hal & Mal's and Nick Wallace Culinary, and a cash bar. Guests can also join interactive flash tours through the museums to learn about the history of medicine in Mississippi.

Emmett Till Free Admission Day

In celebration of Emmett Till’s birthday, the Two Mississippi Museums will host a free admission day featuring guided tours at 10:30 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, July 25. Grape Dumplings Cooking Demonstration

Join us for a Grape Dumplings Cooking Demo at noon on Saturday, July 29, at the Grand Village of the Natchez Indians. Rebekah Scott, a descendant of Creek and Cherokee ancestry, will lead a cooking demonstration featuring grape dumplings. Gallery Talk: Solidarity Now

Join us at 11 a.m. on Thursday, July 13, at the Two Mississippi Museums for a Solidary Now! 1968 Poor People's Campaign gallery talk. Drew Gardner, a museum educator, will explain how the Poor People's Campaign brought national attention to the associated problems of poverty and hunger. Rebecca Butz, a registered dietitian at the University of Mississippi Medical Center Ambulatory EversCare Clinic, will explain how the clinic—named for civil rights leader Myrlie Evers—works to improve patients' health by addressing social needs such as food insecurity.

Community Curation Day

Learn how to preserve treasured family artifacts at 10 a.m. on Saturday, July 15, for our Community Curation Day at the William F. Winter Archives & History Building. Professional archivist Laura Heller will demonstrate how to best preserve and store precious family memorabilia. Some archival supplies while be available while supplies last. This program is free and open to the public. Space is limited. Register here to reserve a spot.
