Sunday Screening of Okay, Mr. Ray! and Ray Lum: Mule Trader

The Two Mississippi Museums will host a Sunday Screening of two short films, Okay, Mr. Ray! and Ray Lum: Mule Trader from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. The run time for these films is 14 minutes each. The screening will be held in the Craig H. Neilsen Auditorium. The short films explore the history of Mississippi, providing a glimpse into Southern manhood, community, and livelihood through the lens of a livestock trader. They also share an overarching sense of "place" and how the environment can contribute to the human experience.

History Happy Hour: Freedom Summer

Enjoy our History Happy Hour at 5 p.m. on Thursday, July 11, at the Two Mississippi Museums! This event will commemorate the Freedom Summer Project and will feature free admission, complimentary appetizers from the Nissan Café by Nick Wallace, a cash bar, and a live performance from the Kimble Funchess Music Group. Guests can also join interactive flash tours through the museums to learn about the impact of Freedom Summer on the Mississippi Civil Rights Movement. Two Mississippi Museum members receive a complimentary drink.

Traditional Native Cooking

Join us for Traditional Native Cooking with Rebekah Scott (Cherokee, Natchez, Muscogee) on Saturday, July 27, at 2 p.m. at the Grand Village of the Natchez Indians. Scott will demonstrate traditional cooking methods of kanuchi. Kanuchi is a soup made from hickory nuts. For more information, call 601-446-6502 or email info@natchezgrandvillage.com.

A Talk with Dave Dennis Sr.

Join us for A Talk with David Dennis Sr. at 11 a.m. on Friday, June 21, in the Craig H. Neilsen Auditorium of the Two Mississippi Museums. Dennis will share his experience as a civil rights activist during the Freedom Summer Project. A brief Q&A will follow his recounting. Gallery Talk

Join us for a Gallery Talk at 11 a.m. on Thursday, August 22, at the Two Mississippi Museums.
