Stickball and Games

Join us for Stickball and Games at 3 p.m. on Friday, March 22, at the Grand Village of the Natchez Indians. This event will consist of a stickball game demonstration and game stations where visitors can play chunkey and marbles. Stickball is a traditional game of the native people of the Eastern Woodlands and is played in a variety of ways depending on the tribal nation. Master of Light Screening

Join us for a screening of the Master of Light at 2 p.m. on Sunday, March 10, in the Craig H. Neilsen Auditorium of the Two Mississippi Museums. The film follows a painter, George Anthony Morton, whose time in prison shaped his artistry to address traumas caused through race and class barriers. Flags From Mississippi: Emblems Through Time Exhibit Opening

The Flags from Mississippi: Emblems Through Time exhibit opens Saturday, March 9, at the Two Mississippi Museums in the FedEx Exhibition Hall. Rarely shown state, national, and military flags from the collection of the Mississippi Department of Archives and History will be on display through November 8. Flags From Mississippi Gallery Talk: USCT

Join us for Flags From Mississippi (FFM) Gallery Talk: USCT at 11 a.m. on Thursday, March 14, at the Two Mississippi Museums. This gallery talk will feature a panel-style discussion of the role and importance of the United States Colored Troops in Mississippi, highlighting the 5th Regiment United States Colored Heavy Artillery (replica) flag displayed in the FFM exhibit. Invited guests include Dr. Roscoe Barnes III, Cultural Heritage Tourism Manager at Visit Natchez , and Dr. Albert Dorsey, Jr., Assistant Professor of History at Jackson State University.
