MLK Night of Culture

The Two Mississippi Museums will host the rescheduled 2024 MLK Night of Culture to honor the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. at 6 p.m. on Saturday, February 17, in the Craig H. Neilsen Auditorium of the Two Mississippi Museums in Jackson. Free admission to the Two Mississippi Museums on February 17 and the Night of Culture event is made possible through support from FedEx

Voter Registration Available at Two Mississippi Museums

Kyle Kirkpatrick, Mississippi's Assistant Secretary of State, will be at the Two Mississippi Museums from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the Hall of History assisting visitors with voter registration, voter registrant information, and other informational materials from the Mississippi Secretary of State's office.

Visitors can register to vote with the last four digits of their social security number or their driver's license number.

Preserving Religious Records

Join us for Preserving Religious Records, a free program to teach leaders and staff of faith-based organizations how to preserve valuable institutional documents, books, photographs, etc. The program will take place at 3 p.m. on Thursday, February 29, in the Craig H. Neilsen Auditorium of the Two Mississippi Museums in Jackson.

Butterfly In The Sky Screening

Join us for a free screening of Butterfly In the Sky: The Story of Reading Rainbow at 2 p.m. on Sunday, February 11, in the Craig H. Neilsen Auditorium of the Two Mississippi Museums. This film follows the journey of the popular PBS children’s series “Reading Rainbow,” and the challenges its memorable host, LeVar Burton, and creators faced while inspiring children to read. Part of the Southern Circuit, this program is sponsored by the Mississippi Humanities Council and the Mississippi Film Office.

Free Admission Day

"Looking at Welty Looking at Short Stories" Teacher CEU Workshop

Join us for “Looking at Welty Looking at Short Stories” Teachers' CEU Workshop from 8:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Friday, February 23, in the Eudora Welty House & Garden. Suzanne Marrs, Welty Foundation Scholar-in-Residence and Millsaps College emerita professor of English, and Michael Pickard, assistant professor of English and creative writing at Millsaps College, will lead a discussion on the topic "Looking at Welty Looking at Short Stories."
